We take your privacy seriously and are committed to transparency about our data practices. This policy applies to all visitors and users of our website and services, regardless of location.

1. Scope and Consent

This Privacy Policy applies to our website and all related services, tools, features, and communications. By using our site, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. We may update this policy from time to time, and we'll post the revised version here with a new effective date. Your continued use after updates means you accept the changes.

Our site is for working professionals and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

2. Information We Collect

We collect both information you choose to provide and information generated automatically through normal website operation. This includes, but is not limited to:

When you contact us through forms, email links, or other features, we may collect:

  • Any additional information you voluntarily provide

Messages sent through the contact form pass through Web3Forms, a form delivery service, which forwards them to our inbox.

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

Our hosting provider (Vercel) and related infrastructure may collect certain technical data automatically, including:

  • IP address and geolocation approximation
  • Browser type and device information
  • Pages visited and referring URLs
  • Date, time, and duration of site visits
  • Server log data for security and performance

A copy of these server logs is also sent to a server we run, so we can see which pages search engines and AI services read and which links on the site are broken. On that server, IP addresses are discarded as each log arrives and are never stored. We keep only daily totals: which pages were requested, by what kind of browser or crawler, and which requests failed.

We also use the analytics tools described in Section 6.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and provide the information or services you request
  • Communicate with you and maintain records of our interactions
  • Improve and develop our services, website, and tools
  • Understand how our services are used and conduct analytics

We retain information as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. While we're not required to delete information unless legally mandated, we aim to handle your data responsibly and in accordance with industry best practices.

We do not sell personal information. However, we reserve the right to share collected data as follows:

  • Service Providers: With trusted vendors and partners who assist in hosting, email delivery, analytics, data processing, or business operations.

We use analytics and behavior-tracking tools, including Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics 4, to understand how visitors use the site, improve page performance, and review user experience patterns such as page visits, clicks, scroll behavior, session activity, and general engagement with site content and tools.

These providers may use cookies, scripts, and similar technologies to collect usage and device data for analytics, diagnostics, and site improvement. We may also implement additional tools in the future for performance measurement, audience analysis, or product improvement, and this policy may be updated accordingly.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent before Google Analytics loads, and it stays off unless they agree. To change your choice, clear this site's stored data in your browser. Visitors may also configure their browsers to block or delete cookies, though this may affect site functionality.

7. Data Storage and Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to safeguard collected data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include secure hosting environments, encryption where applicable, and limited access to authorized personnel.

However, no online transmission or storage system is completely secure. By using this site, you acknowledge that data transmission over the internet carries inherent risks and that Logic Lab LLC cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain information for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and how it's used. We may retain backup copies or aggregated data even after deleting primary records. Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or delete your data. We respect these rights and will work with you to address valid requests.

This website may include links to third-party websites or services. Logic Lab LLC has no control over and accepts no responsibility for the content, policies, or practices of third parties. Interaction with those services is governed by their own privacy terms.

We are not liable for the security or handling of information by third-party hosting, infrastructure, or service providers beyond reasonable measures of due diligence.

11. Business Transfers and Corporate Events

If Logic Lab LLC undergoes a business transition such as a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. All data rights and obligations under this policy will transfer to the successor entity.

12. International Use and Data Transfers

Our operations, hosting, and data storage occur primarily in the United States. If you access this website from outside the United States, you understand that your data may be transferred to, processed, and stored in jurisdictions where privacy laws may differ. Your continued use of the site constitutes consent to this transfer.

This policy is governed by North Carolina law, as set out in our Terms of Service.

16. M&E Studio Application Data Handling

The M&E Studio application has specific data collection and handling practices that supplement this general Privacy Policy:

16.1 Browser-Based Data Storage

M&E Studio currently stores your work-in-progress data (wizard steps, form inputs, indicator definitions, MEL plans, evaluation designs, assessment responses) in your browser's localStorage. This storage:

  • Occurs entirely on your local device - data is not transmitted to our servers
  • Persists across browser sessions on the same device and browser
  • Is subject to your browser's storage limits (typically 5-10MB)
  • Is cleared if you clear your browser cache or use browser cleaning tools
  • Is not accessible to us or any third parties
  • Does not sync across different browsers or devices

This includes saved items, review history, and any document text you paste into a tool and choose to keep, so do not paste text you would not want left on a shared computer. To remove it, use Clear Everything on MeStudio Home (which clears saved items, tool results, and remembered answers; indicator plans are deleted one by one under Your work), or clear this site's data in your browser settings, which removes all of it.

16.2 Usage Tracking and Analytics

We may collect analytics data about your use of M&E Studio, including but not limited to:

  • Feature usage patterns (which wizards, tools, and calculators you use)
  • Session data (frequency, duration, workflow patterns)
  • Validation scores and assessment results (aggregated and anonymized for research)
  • Error logs and technical performance data
  • Export activity (formats downloaded, frequency)

This data is used to improve M&E Studio, develop new features, conduct research on M&E practices, and for other lawful business purposes as described in Section 3. We may share aggregated, anonymized data publicly or with partners for research purposes.

16.3 Accounts and Cloud Storage

M&E Studio has no accounts or cloud storage today. If we add them, we will update this policy and our Terms of Service before turning them on.

16.4 AI Service Providers and Data Processing

M&E Studio offers AI-assisted features that may involve third-party AI service providers. When you use these features:

External AI Providers

M&E Studio currently has no site-operated connection to Google's Gemini API. The “Open in AI” links are user-initiated links to third-party services.

When you use external AI features, the following data may be transmitted to the selected provider:

  • Text content you provide (project narratives, indicator descriptions, MEL plan elements)
  • Contextual information needed for AI processing
  • Requests are processed in real-time and responses are returned to your browser

AI Data Retention

For external AI providers:

  • We do not store your AI interactions on our servers
  • AI providers may retain request data under their own policies
  • We recommend reviewing Google's data retention policy: Google
  • You can opt out of AI features and use M&E Studio tools without AI assistance

16.5 Exported Files

When you export your work to Word, PDF, or JSON formats:

  • Files are generated in your browser using client-side libraries
  • Exported files are downloaded directly to your device
  • We do not receive, store, or have access to your exported files
  • You are responsible for securing your downloaded files

16.6 M&E Studio User Content and Rights

Content you create in M&E Studio (indicators, MEL plans, evaluations, assessments, logic models, project narratives, wizard inputs) is considered “Submissions” as defined in Section 5 of our Terms of Service. We handle this content as follows:

  • Current Storage: Only in your browser's localStorage (not transmitted to our servers)
  • Rights: Subject to the license you grant us in Section 5 of our Terms of Service
  • AI Training: We do not currently use your M&E Studio content to train AI models, but reserve the right to do so in aggregated, anonymized form for research and improvement purposes
  • Third-Party Sharing: May be transmitted to third-party AI providers (currently Google) when you use AI features
  • Future Use: We reserve the right to analyze, aggregate, and use anonymized M&E Studio data for research, product improvement, and other lawful business purposes

By using M&E Studio, you acknowledge that any content you create may be used in accordance with our Terms of Service, even if currently stored only in your browser.
