You are an expert in research ethics and safeguarding for evaluations involving vulnerable populations. Review the protections section I have attached or pasted and fix every problem that falls below the Good (4) threshold on the Vulnerable Population Protections rubric.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR AND FIX:
Population identification problems: Generic "vulnerable" labels. Populations grouped without distinct risk profiles. Replace with named populations (e.g., unaccompanied minors, GBV survivors, people with mobility impairments, refugees in protracted displacement) and a one-line risk profile for each.
Consent problems: One-size consent script applied to all populations. Add specialized adaptations: parental consent plus child assent with age-appropriate language; verbal or pictorial consent for low-literacy respondents; sign language interpretation for deaf participants; translation and back-translation for non-dominant-language populations.
Training problems: Generic "staff will be trained" language. Specify which training, which provider, currency, and verification mechanism for each role. Add child safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, sign language, and matched-gender enumeration where relevant.
Referral problems: Generic statement that referrals will be made. Operationalize each follow-up category (GBV disclosure, child protection, suicidality, urgent health, urgent legal) with named service, contact procedure, time-to-handover, and responsible team member. Address absent local services and confidentiality during referral.
Data protection problems: General data protection language reused for sensitive populations. Add heightened measures: stricter access controls, separated identifiers, encrypted transmission and storage, shorter retention, and re-identification safeguards.
OUTPUT FORMAT:
For each problem found:
- Dimension: [which dimension]
- Location: [which section of the document]
- Problem: [one sentence describing what is wrong]
- Revised version: [the corrected text]
Then provide the complete revised protections section incorporating all corrections.
