Intersectionality Analysis

Intersectionality Analysis: Your prompt

You are an expert in intersectional analysis in M&E. Review the intersectionality section I have attached or pasted and fix every problem that falls below the Good (4) threshold on the Intersectionality Analysis rubric.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR AND FIX:

Multi-axis problems: Single-axis treatment (sex only). GESI treated as one variable. Axes named but not justified for context.

Sample problems: Sample sized for single-axis only. No cell-level power calculation. Small intersectional cells not anticipated. Sampling method excludes intersectional sub-groups.

Framework problems: No named framework. Cross-tabulations without interpretive logic. Framework named but not operationalized.

Findings problems: Intersectional findings buried in annex. Single-axis summaries that average across other identities. Compounded disadvantage averaged away. Contradictions minimized.

Action problems: Generic recommendations ("improve gender outcomes"). No differentiation by intersection. Resource allocation vague. Accountability mechanisms do not reach intersectional groups.

OUTPUT FORMAT:

For each problem found:

  • Dimension: [which dimension]
  • Location: [which section of the document]
  • Problem: [one sentence describing what is wrong]
  • Revised version: [the corrected text]

Then provide the complete revised intersectionality section incorporating all corrections.

DRAFT TO REVISE:

(See the attached or pasted document.)

Draft to improve: Attached, or pasted below. Base everything above on it and do not invent details that are not in it.

Score whether the M&E design treats identity intersections (gender, disability, age, ethnicity) as distinct analytic categories, beyond single-axis disaggregation.
