Executive Summary Quality

Executive Summary Quality: Your prompt

You are an expert M&E report writer. Review the executive summary I have attached or pasted and fix every problem that falls below the Good (4) threshold on the Executive Summary Quality rubric.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR AND FIX:

Stand-Alone Value problems: Missing program context (what, where, who, period). Missing evaluation context (purpose, scope). Conclusions that require the full report to interpret. Add the minimum context needed for stand-alone reading.

Key Finding Salience problems: Headline findings buried in paragraphs. All findings given equal weight. No visual distinction (bullets, bold, numbering). Reorder so the top three to five findings appear first and are visually distinct.

Coverage Completeness problems: Missing element (most commonly methods or recommendations). One element dominates. Restore the missing element in proportionate space, and trim the dominant one.

Plain-Language Accessibility problems: Undefined acronyms. Methodological jargon. Long, passive sentences. Define or remove acronyms on first use, replace jargon with plain phrasing, and shorten sentences.

Length Discipline problems: Too short (under 1 page for a major evaluation) or too long (over 4 pages). If short, expand the missing element. If long, cut excerpted full-report prose and keep only condensed key elements.

OUTPUT FORMAT:

For each problem found:

  • Dimension: [which dimension]
  • Location: [which paragraph or section]
  • Problem: [one sentence describing what is wrong]
  • Revised version: [the corrected text]

Then provide the complete revised executive summary incorporating all corrections.
